The Membership Girl

We had a great turnout last Thursday resulting in a great practice.  Let's keep the momentum going and continue with turnouts of 14 or more paddlers.  Thanks to those of you who attended.

Just a reminder that you only have a few days remaining to nominate your choice for the position of Assistant Men's Capt.   The close off is on Wednesday with voting by email on Thursday and Friday.  Winner announced at practice on Saturday.  Send you nomination to both Jim and me.

We have received an invitation from the Penang
International Dragon Boat Festival organizers.  We need to discuss this
as a team, and decide what to do soon!  Here's the skinny:

--The PIDBF organizers will give FREE ROOM AND BOARD
--The event is May 23 & 24
--Malaysia Air currently has a $212 special (taxes included)
--A spiffy brochure is attached with all the details

Here is the Harry’s

It comes down to this.  If you want
to win in June, which is now 3 months away, you need to start seriously
paddling now. Stop the chatter in the boat, focus on building strength
and endurance and not what you are going to do after a few beers on the
beach.  Thursday's practice is now coached by Nasi and usually lasts
for 1 1/2 hours.  We need more paddlers to attend.  Last Thursday he
coached NUS as we did not have enough to warrant his time.

Come anyway.  We will return to the beach and pick you up whenever you say you will be there.
